The Cincinnati Soaring Society is pleased to announce the 2004 Annual Memorial Contest on May 22-23, 2004 at the Voice of America Park (VOA Park) in West Chester, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. The VOA Park is the home field of the VOA Flyers Model Airplane Club, whose members are gracious in sharing their flying field for this event. This is the first Ohio Valley Soaring Series (OVSS) contest of the year. Do make the trek to Southwestern Ohio and enjoy spirited competition and good old times to kick off the soaring season. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Location: VOA Park is just off of I-75 at the Tylersville Road Exit. The park is a square mile in area and is situated between Tylersville Road on the south, Cox Road on the west, Butler-Warren Road on the east, and Hamilton-Mason Road on the north. The Contest site is in the extreme north-east corner of the park and is only accessible via the entrance/access road from Cox Road. Here are links for detailed maps and lodging information.
Directions: From I-75, take the Tylersville Road exit and proceed east approximately 1/2 mile to Cox Road. Turn north (left) on Cox Road and proceed to the park entrance on the right about 2/3 mile at a stoplight. Turn into the park on the asphalt road and veer to the right on the gravel road, following it towards and past the VOA Headquarters building, passing the soccer fields and baseball diamonds. Turn north on the gravel road on the left to the northeast corner of the park to the Contest site.
