The Cincinnati Soaring Society is pleased to announce its annual Pumpkin Fly on October 20-21, 2007. This is a "must attend" event to close out this fine 2007 contest season. This years Pumpkin Fly will be held at the Voice of America Park (VOA Park) in West Chester, Ohio , just north of Cincinnati.  Please do make the trek to Southwestern Ohio and enjoy spirited competition and good old times to finish off the soaring season. We look forward to seeing you there. 

Location: VOA Park is just off of I-75 at the Tylersville Road Exit. The park is a square mile in area and is situated between Tylersville Road on the south, Cox Road on the west, Butler-Warren Road on the east, and Hamilton-Mason Road on the north. The Contest site is in the extreme north-east corner of the park and is only accessible via the entrance/access road from Cox Road.  Click for more detailed maps and lodging information.

Directions: From I-75, take the Tylersville Road exit and proceed east approximately 1/2 mile to Cox Road. Turn north (left) on Cox Road and proceed to the park entrance on the right about 2/3 mile at a stoplight. Turn into the park on the asphalt road and veer to the right on the gravel road, following it towards and past the VOA Headquarters building, passing the soccer fields and baseball diamonds. Turn north on the gravel road on the left to the northeast corner of the park to the Contest site.

Task: Thermal Duration with L4 (spot) landing.  Any type of altitude detection devices not permitted
Classes:

Unlimited (444), seeded man on man, seven winches with 290# line on all winches.

Fees: $15 per day entry fee, $25 for both days, $5 Saturday lunch
Awards: 1st thru 5th Place both days. Special Pumpkin Fly trophies and Trophy for Best Two-Day Overall score. Plus the notorious "DFL" trophies - Tricks, not treats!!!!
Turkey Shoot: On Sunday, we will give away turkeys (details provided at the Pilot's meeting).  They are not free, you will need to work for them in the heated Man-on-Man Turkey Shoot round.
Planes: Pilots may change planes at their discretion (both days)

Schedule for both days: 

Registration Opens: 8:30 AM (Pre-registration not required) 
Pilots Meeting: 9:15 AM sharp!!
First Flight: 9:45 AM 
Lunch on Saturday: "Chef Dirr" will provide the delectable turkey and fix'ins on Saturday at nominal price. 
Lunch on Sunday: Let's just say... Bring your own, as there are plenty of fast food outlets near the VOA Park.
